A science team for every shellfish farm

Scattered coastal data, made clear and actionable for shellfish farmers.

Coastal waters have never been better measured. Buoys, tide gauges, and water-quality stations feed a huge stream of data. However, due to the volume and complexity, it’s not accessible to the small farms that need it most.

DataShoal brings those streams together, checks every reading against the same standards oceanographers use, and turns the result into a plain-language weekly picture for growers and clean, ready-to-use datasets for researchers. Our pilot product is a “State of the Bay” report, delivered weekly by email and available by subscription. The rollout is phased: California’s Humboldt, Tomales, and Morro bays are live today, Washington’s Salish Sea growing regions are in progress, with more to follow. We describe conditions first; forecasting comes next.
